Young families and children
Young families and children are very welcome at our Sunday services. We see them as an important part of our church community and like to make them feel at home.
Crèche
During the service, you are welcome to take young children out to our crèche area where there are plenty of toys to keep your little ones entertained. Parents are asked to stay with their child. However, we do have a system where the service can be relayed to this area, so you won’t be missing out on the service! If you would like the crèche to be available when you visit, please speak to the person on the door when you arrive, or contact the church office in advance.
Junior Church
We spend the first part of worship together (usually about 20 minutes) and then the children and young people go out to meet in separate groups.
We currently have 1 Junior Church group on a Sunday for Primary school age children. We spend time exploring the Christian faith through fun activities, games and sometimes food! Everyone is welcome whether you are visiting just for one week or making a home with us for longer.
We often have all age services where the children and young people explore the Christian faith further as part of the congregation, and get involved practically in the services.
Christmas is a big occasion for the Junior Church where they take the lead role in our Festival service with dramatic offerings from young and old alike.
We also hold Junior Church lunches and picnics through the year. Greenbelt Christian Arts Festival is a favourite with many of our church members too. We are always looking for new adventures to do together!
Safeguarding
New Road Baptist Church has a full safeguarding policy – you can view the summary statement via the link at the bottom of this page. All members of our Junior Church Team have attended safeguarding training and hold a relevant DBS certificate.
